Schlitt Employee ExpressThe working home of Schlitt colleagues

Every concern is heard.

The standing channel for colleague concerns of any kind, maintained independently of departmental lines.

What to expect

The Listening Office exists so that no concern goes unheard. Colleagues may raise a concern at any time, on any subject, through Form CO-5 or in person during posted hours. No appointment is necessary, although appointments are appreciated.

Every concern is heard, recorded, and remembered. The office maintains a complete record of each concern, its circumstances, and the colleague who raised it, so that patterns can be recognized across cycles and so that no colleague’s contribution to the institution’s understanding is ever lost.

Concerns are acknowledged within two working days and considered at the pace understanding requires. Colleagues are kept informed in proportion to their continuing interest. In the office’s long experience, the majority of concerns resolve upon reflection, and the office is always glad to schedule reflection.

The Listening Office asks colleagues to raise concerns directly rather than discussing them laterally, since informal discussion can spread an incomplete understanding of matters the office is already attending to. Raising a concern is a contribution; repeating one is a pattern.

The office thanks colleagues for their trust. It is a trust the office keeps permanently.

Concerns may be submitted at any time via Form CO-5 (see the Forms Center).
