Communications & Language Guidance
Style, terminology, and institutional voice. One institution, one language.
About this office
The Language Guidance office maintains the vocabulary of Schlitt. Consistent language is how a large institution remains one institution: it ensures that a colleague in any division, on any site, describes the work the way the work deserves to be described.
Terminology is reviewed each cycle. Where understanding has matured, bulletins record the preferred forms and retire the incomplete ones. Colleagues are asked to adopt current terminology in all new material and to treat the bulletins as they would any other operating standard.
